The plant has now been acquired by German investor group FairCap.
Överum will reportedly regain its autonomy and be renamed Överum AB as an independent company. The acquisition was completed by the German investment group FairCap, with subsidiaries in Munich, London and Milan.
FairCap thus takes over the management of a company with 70 employees and a wide range of mounted and semi-mounted ploughs; among the various companies the investment company controls, Överum will be jointly managed with S&P Fedenwerk, a manufacturer of springs and tines for agricultural equipment.
For FairCap, which says it is “delighted to welcome Överum to the FairCap family and convinced that Överum can realise its full potential”, this is an important acquisition that will expand its portfolio of companies.
However, at the moment, Kongskilde’s website still features Överum equipment within its range, and CNH’s intentions, which may continue to buy Överum-branded plows to offer its customers a full product line, are unclear.
Pluguri Överum, istorie
The famous Swedish Overüm ploughs have been owned by Kongskilde and marketed under the New Holland brand and colours since 2017. Överum’s origins date back to 1655. Initially, it was engaged in the manufacture of cannons and cannonballs.
In the mid-19th century, Överums Bruk AB began producing ploughs. Over time, it specialised in the development of cultivation, sowing and fertilising equipment. In 1998, Överum’s Mill was acquired by Kongskilde, which in 2016 was taken over by CNH Industrial Group.
